South Africa bans alcohol sales to free hospital beds for COVID-19 patients

South Africa plans to reimpose a liquor ban to reduce the number of trauma patients that have taken up space in hospitals, in light of the country seeing an increase in coronavirus patients. The country is also reinstating a night curfew to reduce traffic accidents and is making it mandatory for all residents to wear face masks when in public. South Africa accounts for 40% of all cases in Africa.
