2 officers killed in shootout in south Texas border town

Two cops were shot and killed Saturday by a suspect who later fatally shot himself in a South Texas border town after responding to a domestic disturbance call. The slain officers were identified as Edelmiro Garza and Ismael Chavez. Law enforcement from several cities in Hidalgo County gathered Saturday at McAllen Medical to honor Garza and Chavez.

I live in McAllen. In ten years I've been pulled over twice for not signaling and let go with a warning each time. My point is these are generally good guys compared to major cities where they act stupidly. One reason is despite a population of 800k, its very much a small town where everybody knows each other and word spreads fast. Other factors at play too but generally treat people ok.

RIP officers. I wish it were a time when you were given standing ovations for your service instead of being constantly slandered and demoralized by Antifa and BLM a-holes.

Damn. Thank you for protecting us even to the point of giving your own lives. Your sacrafice is not forgotten, and your pain is felt in all of us.
