Mongolian teenager dies from Bubonic plague

A Mongolian teenager diagnosed with bubonic plague died on Monday. The 15-year-old from the western province of Govi-Altai had reportedly contracted the disease after consuming marmot’s meat. Two other teenagers consumed the meat of the rodent but their condition is unknown. A quarantine has now been put in place on five districts in the province, which shares a border with China.
