Mom who paid company $9,000 in college bribery scandal sentenced to five weeks

Karen Littlefair who paid $9,000 to have a substitute take online college courses for her son at Georgetown Univ. and then demanded a discount when he received a C, has been sentenced to five weeks in prison. She had pleaded guilty admitting to the conspiracy to commit wire fraud charges in Jan. During her sentencing via VC she requested for leniency saying she was ’truly sorry’ for her actions.

What a dumb thing our Judicial system does... None of these people should be placed in a cage for nonviolent offenses. Instead, slap a big fat fine on them and be done with it - would greatly reduce the size and expense of the judicial system by only housing violent people, and the fines could be used to pay someone else to go to college. We really need to reform the system.
