71K Americans died from drug overdoses last year; 2020 could be worse

As per the CDC, nearly 71,000 Americans died of drug overdoses last year, a new record. This is driven by fentanyl and similar synthetic opioids, which accounted for 36,500 overdose deaths. Deaths involving cocaine and meth also are rising. Assistant Secretary for Health Adm. Brett Giroir said that the COVID-19 pandemic ’could markedly affect our nation’s mental health and risk of substance use’.

Illicit drugs happen from cash flow addiction. Remove the cash addiction and drugs go away. Better yet, legalize all drugs and watch the addiction or over dose drop by 40-60%. Big Pharma would lose its mind. So would the DEA.
