Court of Appeal rules Shamima Begum can return to UK to fight for citizenship

The Court of Appeal has ruled that Shamima Begum should be allowed to return to the UK to fight the decision to remove her UK citizenship. She was one of three schoolgirls who left UK to join ISIS in Syria in 2015. Her citizenship was revoked after she was found in a refugee camp in 2019. The Court of Appeal said she had been denied a fair hearing as she could not make her case from a Syrian camp.

She was 15 years old when she joined the ISIS terror group. Five years down the line now, she has lost three of her children and was found in a Syrian refugee camp. Maybe the way to fight ISIS on all fronts also includes fighting off the illusion it offers and who better than Shamima to show that, who has suffered the loss of it and is ready to face the justice system of the UK?
