UK centenarian who raised millions for health workers set to be knighted

Captain Tom Moore, the 100-year-old who raised millions for health workers during the COVID-19 pandemic by walking laps of his garden, is set to become ’Sir Tom’ on Friday when he is knighted by Queen Elizabeth. The WWII vet raised a 33 million pounds by walking 100 laps of his garden with the aid of a walking frame. ’I could never have imagined this would happen to me’, Moore said.
