Latinos are for the first time the leading group of prospective freshmen accepted into the University of California for fall 2020. Latinos slightly eclipsed Asian Americans for the first time, making up 36% of the 79,953 students offered admission. Asians made up 35%, whites 21% and Black students 5%. ’The incoming class will be one of our most talented and diverse yet’, UC President said.

Unfortunately this sounds like affirmative action which hurts everyone including those they try to help. The poor asian kids who probaly worked very hard to try and get in are now being denied because they don't meet the higher required test scores for their ethnicity meanwhile all these diversity applicants most likely won't meet the standards of the school and drop out or fail like they usually do because the SAT requirment is made lower for them which puts them into school they aren't ready for. All SATs and College admission should be blind that way no one knows the skin color and kids get in based on their merit.

Asian Americans have long faced racial discrimination for college enrollment. No place more so than California. The long term impact has been that class pace has been slowed to accommodate the less talented affirmative action enrollees. Which will produce lower quality students in the long run. Sucks to work hard and not get what you earn. Especially in America.
