Rename Edward Pettus Bridge in honor of John Lewis, says James Clyburn

Rep. James Clyburn, the House Majority Whip has called for Edmund Pettus Bridge to be renamed in honor of Civil Rights era legend Rep. John Lewis (D-Ga.), who died last week. Mr. Lewis was marching during ’Bloody Sunday’ when Alabama State Troopers beat peaceful protesters there in 1965. Mr. Clyburn said that the bridge should be renamed since Edward Pettus was a grand wizard of the Ku Klux Klan.
