House Democrats demand probe into federal crackdown on Portland protests
Three House Democratic chairs have sent a joint letter to the inspectors general of the DOJ and DHS calling for investigation into the use of federal force against recent protests in Washington, DC, and Portland. The departments have ’increasingly abused emergency authorities to justify the use of force against Americans exercising their right to peaceful assembly,’ the Democrats wrote.
