Sudan’s Omar al-Bashir in court for trial over 1989 coup

Omar al-Bashir, the ousted autocrat from Sudan was back in court on Tuesday. He is facing charges for plotting the Islamist-backed coup in the year 1989. The coup resulted in the government being removed with him coming to power instead. Bashir was overthrown by the military in April 2019 and has been in jail in Khartoum since then.
