Detroit officer charged in rubber pellet shooting at protest

A Detroit police officer accused of shooting rubber bullets at a group of journalists during protests days after George Floyd died was charged with felony assault. Cpl. Daniel Debono, 32, was charged on Monday with three counts of felonious assault, which carries a maximum penalty of four years, in the ’unprovoked’ shooting, the Wayne County Prosecutor’s Office said.
