Uber to defend business model at UK’s Supreme Court

Uber is set to defend its business model on Tuesday at Britain’s Supreme Court in a battle over rights in the workplace. The case, brought by two then Uber drivers in London, saw an employment tribunal rule in 2016 that they were entitled to workers’ rights such as the minimum wage, paid holidays and rest breaks. The case could have ramifications for millions earning a living in the gig economy.
