AOC to introduce bill requiring federal officers to identify themselves

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) and delegate Eleanor Holmes Norton (D-DC) are introducing legislation that would require federal law enforcement officers to identify their agency, last name, and identification number while on duty. The bill will also create a new oversight process within the DOJ requiring recurring audits by its IGs. The results of these audits would then be reported to Congress.

Number and agency is fine but not their last name, I don't agree with showing anything that could identify they personally. Because even that small bit of information can greatly increase the chances of someone finding their private residence.

“The bill would compel all on-duty agents to clearly display their agency name, their own last name and their identification number and would create a new oversight process within the Justice Department requiring recurring audits by its inspector general, The Nation reported.” Wow! A common sense idea! And people on this site are outraged why? It is the same thing local cops display every day in order to create some accountability, why wouldn’t federal cops have to? Oh, they don’t like it because AOC...makes total sense.
