Student files first climate change lawsuit against Australian govt

A 23-year-old Australian student has filed a lawsuit against the government alleging it has failed to disclose climate change-related risks to investors in the country’s sovereign bonds. Kathleen O’Donnell claims investors who buy government bonds should be made aware of the risks that might make it difficult for the Govt. to pay back its debt. Australia has over $428B of sovereign bonds on issue.
