A magnitude 7.8 earthquake off the southwestern tip of Alaska prompted a tsunami warning for some communities early Wednesday. The warning has since ended. The quake hit roughly 100 kilometres southeast of Perryville at a depth of about 28 kilometres. There were no immediate reports of damage following the quake.
