A new long distance pair of neighbors

A new long distance pair of neighbors

Sitting just 300 light years away from earth, scientist have found a possible twin to the sun that Earth orbits, named TYC 8998-760-1. This star has two gas giants. The first was found in May of 2020, and the second found in July. These celestial bodies are viewable through a telescope located in Chile’s Atacama desert. A SPHERE device blocks the stars light, allowing viewing of the planets.

Nothing good may come out of this: it was discovered in 2020. More seriously, 300 LY away makes it unreachable for us.

How soon will we be able to detect the ships sent from this star system to Earth in order to enslave humanity, assuming (naturally) that those ships will be arriving in 2020?

An amazing image! We may never be able to travel between stars but it is interesting to see other solar systems.
