Severe weather threat issued in NYC; Lighting strikes near Statue of Liberty

A viral video from New York City shows an intense lightning rod blasting an area behind the Statue of Liberty. The clip, which is 21 seconds long, was filmed from a dock on Ellis Island. A severe weather threat has been issued by the National Weather Service. Meteorologists also warned that there could be weak tornadoes and flooding in the city.

I, for one, find this ironic, like a force greater than us is telling us Lady Liberty's life is at stake. I still believe the US is a land of opportunity.
