More than 900 Chinese vessels carried out illegal fishing in North Korean waters

Chinese vessels called ’Dark fleets’ have been found to be illegally fishing in North Korean waters. The Global Fishing Watch (GFW) revealed that more than 900 Chinese vessels in 2017 and 700 in 2018 carried out the practice illegally in the area. They are said to have ’caught more than 160,000 metric tonnes of squid, worth more than $440m (£346m).’
