Coal should play no part in post-coronavirus recoveries, UN chief says

UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres cautioned the world Thursday against the use of coal power in the post-coronavirus economic recovery plan saying that ’there is no such thing as clean coal’. Guterres also expressed concerns over new coal plants being planned and financed ’even though renewables offer three times more jobs, and are now cheaper than coal in most countries.’
