Protest against governor’s arrest challenges Kremlin

Thousands of people marched Saturday across the Russian city of Khabarovsk on the border with China to protest the arrest of the regional governor on murder charges. President Putin named an acting successor after Sergei Furgal was jailed in Moscow on July 9. Protesters see the charges against Furgal as unsubstantiated and demand that he stand trial at home.

Hmmm I wonder if these protesters feel safe enough that they start rioting, looting and setting fires. Something tells me the Russian government would be a little less kind than the Americans when comes to that kind of thing.
