Austin police identify BLM protester shot, killed by driver

A BLM protester shot and killed in Austin, Texas, Saturday has been identified as Garrett Foster. A driver, believed to be the one who shot Foster, 28, has been detained. Foster’s mother said that her son was pushing his fiancée’s wheelchair at the protest when a car drove into the crowd. The driver allegedly opened fire at Foster, who was carrying his AK-47, when the latter tried to approach him.

While I think the protests are utterly pointless at this point, I can't approve of shooting, what appear to be in this case, peaceful protesters. What happened in Austin actually was a protest and not a riot. I doubt we Texans would tolerate a prolonged riot.
