Australian regulator sues Google over expanded personal data use

The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission has filed a legal action against Google of misleading the consumers to obtain their consent to expand the scope of personal data and earn more via targeted advertising. The ACCC accused Google of not explicitly getting consent of consumers of a 2016 move to combine personal info in Google accounts with browsing activities on non-Google websites.
