Target announces stores will be closed on Thanksgiving Day this year

Target announced Monday its stores will be closed on Thanksgiving Day, a week after Walmart announced the same decision. The retailer said that while its stores will be closed on the holiday, shoppers will still have ’plenty of opportunities to score the best deals on the hottest items,’ both before and after the 26th, saying that holiday deals will be available ’earlier than ever’ this year.

You know what will cause stores to close on Thanksgiving? People not shopping on Thanksgiving.

As someone who use to work at Walmart here's what I got to say: They'll probably still have workers for part of the day to get setup for Black Friday sales. This will also affect the one purchase extra discount for workers of such shifts (if they still do that). This is probably more for controlling flow of traffic for the sales rather anything for Thanksgiving

I honestly don’t know why they were open on thanksgiving anyway.

Propaganda, Spin, don't let this fool you. 2 things, 1st Black Friday sales are unlikely because of Covid-19, no way to control those crowds. 2nd, most of their inventory comes from China, their supply chain is broken, keeping products in stock is difficult as it is and these products are more expensive now, wholesaling them on Black Friday doesn't make financial sense, this has absolutely nothing to do with employees and family traditions.
