White House to send more federal agents to Portland: Washington Post

The Trump administration is sending more federal agents to Portland, Oregon, to strengthen protection of the federal courthouse amid increasingly violent nightly clashes with protesters, the Washington Post reported . The administration wants to send 50 additional US Customs and Border Protection personnel to the city, adding to the 100 sent last week, according to the Post.

The words federal and troops don't go together at all. This is yet another conflation by the dishonest. There are federal police, agents, etc and they may be dressed up all fancy, but they are not the army, only law enforcement. The only troops we have that operated during peacetime in the US are national guard troops, which in spite of having the word national in their name are actually under the command of state governors. And these us marshalls, not troops, are preventing the burning down of a federal court house, lolololz. What are we exacting differently on this exactly? Is the argument we should let them burn down the courthouse? If you really think that, you are advocating US government overthrow which is also a federal crime, so maybe some federal troops will be coming to visit your house soon as well...
