68 new COVID-19 cases reported in China; highest increase since March

Concerns about a new spread of the COVID-19 pandemic have risen as China has reported 68 new cases on Monday. The number is the highest rise reported in the country since the month of March. 64 of the cases are local while only 4 have been identified as being ’imported’. China has had a total of 86,889 confirmed cases of the disease as of Tuesday.

China's reports will always be received with suspicion to the highest degree. But even if this was true, it indicates that the virus is bound to emerge in new waves of spreading. While some of us are against lockdowns (rightfully so) and others against even doing the bare minimum of wearing masks - whatever options are we left with to tackle this pandemic?
