Scientists create ’impossible’ hybrid fish from American sperm and Russian egg

Hungarian scientists have created a new fish hybrid when sperm from the American paddlefish and eggs from the Russian sturgeon were mixed in a lab. Dubbed the ’sturddlefish’, the existence of the hybrids seems unlikely, considering the parental species shared a common ancestor ~184M years ago. ’We never wanted to play around with hybridization. It was absolutely unintentional’, a researcher said.

Humans have for tens of thousands of years played with the natural order. Dogs are a prime example. No reason to stop now.

Why play God? The animals that we "create" have different gene problems, beside the fact that they are sterile and can't reproduce. Isn't that enough of an example to stop what we are doing? We aren't creators of life, we simply "produce" it for short periods of time and play with a living organism's life.
