Joe Kernan, former Indiana Governor, dies at 74

Joe Kernan, the former Governor of Indiana died on Wednesday morning after battling Alzheimer’s disease. He was 74. Mr. Kernan, who was a Vietnam War veteran first assumed statewide office in 1996. He was lieutenant governor under Frank O’Bannon, and became Governor in 2003 following O’Bannon’s death. Commenting on his death, Gov.
