Vatican reportedly hacked by China before religious freedom talks

Chinese hackers infiltrated the Vatican’s computer network in recent months, ahead of talks with Beijing in Sept to renew a secret deal over control of the Catholic Church in China, said the US-based Recorded Future, which tracks state-backed cyber attacks, in its report. The hacking efforts were led by RedDelta by using malware designed to give hackers access to the Vatican’s email servers.
