Archaeologists have discovered the origins of the giant standing sarsen stones at Stonehenge. They have done so with the help of a missing piece of the site that was returned after 60 years. They identified the source as an area 15 miles north of Marlborough. The smaller bluestones have been traced to the Preseli Hills in Wales. However, the sarsens, until now, had not been possible to identify.
