EU Antitrust Probe to be faced by Google’s $2.1 billion Fitbit deal

A full scale EU anti-trust investigation will take place next week on Google’s $2.1 billion deal for Fitbit, the fitness tracker maker. The deal was announced in November and would have helped Google compete with Apple and Samsung in the fitness tracking and smart watch market. The probe will be launched by the European Commission after the end of its preliminary review on the 4th of August.
