House parties along Jersey Shore blamed for rise in COVID-19 cases in NJ

State officials in New Jersey blamed parties along the Jersey Shore and other parts of the state as cases of COVID-19 started increasing over the last few days. Several indoor gatherings along the Shore have been held responsible for the uptick: One house party has been linked to 65 cases, while another was linked to 35. Videos posted on social media show people flouting social distancing norms.

"Christoudias said he's not surprised by the uptick in COVID-19 cases in the state since the heat is driving people indoors. "Some of these house parties in New Jersey, where people were breaking the rules of having so many people indoors, you're gonna end up with another wave," said Christoudias. "That's the match waiting to hit the powder keg." Other people said they think the virus is spreading from visitors on the Jersey Shore" Please, please at least wear a mask while meeting with people? It might not offer 100% protection, but significantly reduces the risk of you catching the infection. Please take care of yourselves, everyone!
