Hong Kong delays election to September 2021 due to spike in COVID-19 infections

Elections for Hong Kong’s parliament previously scheduled for September 2020 will now be postponed due to a spike in Covid-19 cases. Hong Kong chief executive Carrie Lam said the election will now be held on 5 September 2021 and the decision was taken in view of safeguarding people’s health. She further said that the govt has the support of the Chinese govt in making the said decision.

Not sure why HK needs elections anymore. All meaningful opposition leaders are disqualified, speech is stifled, academic freedom is gone..... Come September 2021, they will find another reason to delay.... Until there are no longer any elections... RIP Free Hong Kong...😭
