17-year-old Florida boy identified as ’mastermind’ of Twitter hack

A British man, a Florida man and a Florida teen were identified as the hackers who earlier this month took over prominent Twitter accounts to scam people across the world of more than $100,000 in Bitcoin. Graham Ivan Clark, 17, was arrested Friday in Tampa. Mason Sheppard, 19, from the UK, and Nima Fazeli, 22, of Orlando, were charged in California.

I’m not sure which is worse, for very different reasons ... the huge “China” did it, and the Bitcoin scheme was cover for the real hack, or 17-year-old hacker was bored.

Give credit where credit is due, the headline should be going for "Florida Man breaks into Twitter HQ, allegedly." However if true this kid might get a government contract. Could be useful in the current cyberwar with the CCP if true.

If this wasn't state sponsored and just phishing, then it's even scarier that anyone could gain access to anyone elses Twitter account. The national security implications of that are frightening
