Good ol' book burning. Always a sign of peaceful people who don't wish to force their world view down your throat. No matter who is doing it, it's authoritarian and a good sign that they're on the wrong side of history.

Protests are meant to garner attention and acts of controversy are always a strong way of meeting that goal. Though I personally would not have made this choice being a Christian myself, and I struggle to see what it actually proves, I believe that this was totally within their rights and I will continue to support any protests that resist authoritarianism at the hands of the state.
