Attack on Afghan jail kills three while prisoners flee

At least three people were killed while dozens were injured after an attack on a jail in Jalalabad in Afghanistan. The attack is being claimed by the Islamic State. The attack resulted in scores of prisoners to escape as well. A huge car bomb explosion was followed by two smaller ones outside the government-run prison. Attackers took positions nearby and then fought with the police.

"The attack highlighted the challenges ahead for Afghanistan, as US and Nato forces begin to withdraw following America striking a peace deal with the Taliban." Is now the right time to be exiting from Afghanistan? If the US leaves, it might create a power vacuum in Afghanistan, which might be filled by China and the ISIS. ISIS, in particular, is desperately trying to strike a comeback of sorts after being routed in the Middle East, and Afghanistan, with its poppy cultivation, might be the perfect place for ISIS to strike a revival. The country is also located on an important strategic corridor in Central Asia, and connects Central, South and North Asia. De-stability in Afghanistan might affect stability in South Asia, too, and lets not forget, we have India and Pakistan there, two nuclear armed neighbors who don't really follow the 'Love Thy Neighbor' doctrine.
