Apple Fire in California spreads to over 20,000 acres

A massive wildfire, dubbed the Apple Fire, burning in Riverside and San Bernardino counties in California has scorched over 20,000 acres. The fire, believed to have started as three separate blazes, broke out Friday afternoon and continues to burn three days later. About 8,000 people have been evacuated and At least one home burned down Saturday.

This is what happens when the state doesn’t allow/conduct cleanup or dead shrubbery, and makes it too expensive to set up new infrastructure (forcing people and companies to rely on old equipment far more likely to malfunction or spark).

We go through this every year. One year we had three blazes all at the same time, set by arsonists. Most of us who work near the fire vulnerable areas, have plans in place, including redundant computers to be able to work without interruption.
