WhatsApp just rolled out a feature to manage fake news

FB has been trying to manage fake news and it has just released what’s one of the best tool to fight fake news. As per WhatsApp’s newest feature, any user who receives a story link would be able to use Google to search the web for more stories about the received link. Users just have to tap and they will be directed to a Google search whose results will show up keeping their privacy protected.

Ah yes, Google that trustworthy search engine, who does not constantly alter search results for its own ends.

Meaning what? They tell you anything from independent media is fake because MSNBC wants you think of facts in a different way? News Media is punditry. Journalism is dead.

Basically whatsapp managed to link a Google search into your messages, which probably looks bad for your privacy anyways. And what does Google do? Just show mainstream fake news.

Good concept, but a hard sell to conspiracy theorists.

Almost Everyone in Asia and Latin America use WhatsApp. It's not even counted against your data usage in Peru where my wife is from. I say that to let everyone reading this in the USA will understand how important this is. Fake News Facebook is going to let Fake News Google decide what the rest of the world gets to think about the USA.

I think this is a brilliant idea, I couldn't count the number of times I've found proof within seconds of doing a Google search, or found the original source of a claim only to realise it says something completely different. Hopefully it'll motivate people to actually check stuff and there will be far fewer deaths from this virus. E.g. some people in Bolivia may learn that deworming drugs don't cure it or the same in Russia with ginger or Africa with herbs or China with salt water or the Middle East with pure alcohol (that one has killed 100's) I don't even know where to start, some Middle Easterners may realise America didn't steal gold and all the oil from Iraq and along with some Israelis discover pork isn't the least healthiest meat (bacon lies matter!) Scientifically illiterate people might learn that the Dutch 5g test happened 5 months after 100's of birds died there, that vaccines don't have mercury, contraceptives weed killer or peanut oil. Or that Gates and Fauci aren't making a fortune from Remdesivir. And of course some Americans might learn that Trump never tweeted that he wouldn't let 1000’s of Americans die from a pandemic while in office or that the video of him buying two children wasn't real and neither was the report that Putin paid him millions of dollars or the one of him weighing 239 pounds. And yes, some other Americans might realise the Democrats are not campaigning for open boarders, the Pelosi drunken video was slowed down or that Biden didn't call the Portland Antifa protesters Courageous Americans.

Whatsapp will now police your private messages and tell you when you're wrong. Because there's no way this could EVER be bad right?....
