Missouri becomes the 39th state to expand Medicaid through Obamacare

Missouri voters approved an expansion of the state’s Medicaid program in Tuesday’s election. Accordingly, an estimated 230K residents, who earn less than roughly $18,000 a year, would gain coverage. The vote passed over the objections of Missouri’s Republican Gov. Mike Parson and conservative interest groups. This makes Missouri the 39th state to expand Medicaid through Obamacare.

Wonderful to see a progressive policy win favor in a historically red state despite heavy opposition from the right. Great choice, Missouri!
