NYC health commissioner submits resignation citing de Blasio’s COVID-19 response

Oxiris Barbot, the Health Commissioner of NYC submitted her resignation and accused mayor Bill de Blasio of sidelining medical experts as the city dealt with one of the worst outbreaks of the novel coronavirus. Looks like DeBlasio's staff has had enough and are quitting. Good for them, they threatened to do this back at the start of the pandemic when Pelosi was pushing for people to shop in Chinatown and DeBlasio was urging New Yorkers to go out and eat, shop, buy, etc.

Technically, if her job was to stand up for medical policies, then she failed. I don’t believe that was the case but if her job was one of persuasion, which didn’t happen, then she did not meet the objective. This was so overwhelming that I think blame is a waste of time and energy. Now is the time to heal.
