Google Play Music service to shut down starting in September

Google is winding down its Google Play Music service in a phased approach that starts in September and wraps up in December. Google intends to shift focus over to the YouTube Music service, which allows the tech giant to focus its streaming services into YouTube and its adjacent subscription services like YouTube Premium, which includes YouTube Music.

YTM simply can't replace GM in terms of functionality, music quality and ease of use. it just can't compete. too bad. they say they do it to compete with Spotify but in effect, they will now lose a big part of their loyal userbase to them.
