GOP Sens. keen to postpone August recess until a COVID-19 relief deal is reached

As both sides grind through a bevy of differences to strike to a agreement on the COVID-19 relief deal, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell said he expects to back whatever aid agreement they reach. The Senate is scheduled to leave for Aug recess at the end of the week. However, GOP senators running for reelection are pressing for the chamber to stay in session until some agreement is reached.
