India PM lays temple stone at disputed holy site

Indian PM Narendra Modi has laid the foundation stone for a Hindu temple in the city of Ayodhya. Construction of the temple was made possible by a verdict last year from the Supreme Court awarding the site to the Hindus. The site in 1992 saw a Hindu mob destroy the 16th-century Babri Mosque on the site, triggering clashes across the country. Hindus believe the site is the birthplace of Lord Ram.

We can now safely conclude that India no longer is a secular democracy. It is a Hindu majoritarian state, with the ruling party backed by the RSS, a militant hindu supremacist organization. For those slamming China over the way it is treating Uighurs, it is equally important to look at how India is treating Muslims in Kashmir and in other parts of the country. Modi is literally building detention centers which eerily remind one of concentration camps.
