Australia’s Queensland shuts state border to stem COVID-19 second wave

Australia’s Queensland state on Wednesday said it will extend its border closure to New South Wales state to hold back a second wave of COVID-19. It has already shut to Victoria - the center of Australia’s second wave - amid an outbreak in Melbourne. Australia has 18,729 cases and 232 deaths. But Victoria has nearly two-thirds of the country’s cases reporting 725 new infections on Wednesday.

"Sydney - the NSW capital and Australia's largest city - has been averaging about 80 infections per week, prompting concerns that community transmission could grow." community transmission at merely 80 infections?! They can surely undertake contact tracing here. Isn't as if they're recording thousands of cases a day. What are these guys panicking about?
