Rescuers search for survivors after the explosion in Beirut

As rescuers continued to search for survivors, health minister Hamad Hassan stated that the number of dead in Beirut’s explosion has risen to at least 135, with around 5,000 injured and tens of people missing. Up to 250,000 people have been left homeless, as well. Lebanon’s cabinet announced a two-week state of emergency in the city. They have ordered port officials to be put under house arrest.
