Police changes put on hold by Minneapolis Charter Commission

A proposal seeking to disband the Minneapolis Police Department will be left off the ballot in November. Consequently, voters will not be able to decide on the issue till after the elections. The Minneapolis Charter Commission announced it required more time to review the proposal. The amendment would have replaced the police department with a Department of Community Safety and Violence Prevention
