Poll reveals 81% of African Americans support police presence

As per a Gallup Poll released Wednesday, 81% of black Americans favor a police presence in their area equal to current levels or more. 61% said they want police presence to remain the same, similar to the 67% of all US adults preferring the status quo. Less than one in five feel confident they will be treated with courtesy and respect, compared to 56% of white people.

People need to be reminded that defunding the police really means reforming. Nobody is actually saying to completely get rid of police. The fact that so few black Americans don't feel police will treat them fairly is the real important part of the polling.
