ITV suffers steepest advertising slump in its history amid pandemic

ITV, Britain’s free-to-air commercial broadcaster suffered the steepest advertising decline in its 65-year history as the Covid-19 pandemic wiped out ad revenues and shut down the production of shows. The ad revenue for Q2 fell 43%, dragging group revenue by 17% for six months ending June to £1.5bn. Adjusted earnings halved to £165mn. Ad revenue fell 21% to £671mn in the first half of the year.
