Twenty four Hong Kong activists charged for taking part in Tiananmen protest

Two dozen democracy advocates in Hong Kong have been charged with taking part in a banned candlelight vigil on 4 June to mark the anniversary of China’s Tiananmen crackdown. They included the activist Joshua Wong, and the media tycoon Jimmy Lai. They were charged with ’knowingly taking part in an unauthorized assembly’. This charge existed before the security law came into force on 30 June.
