Former Maricopa County, Ariz. Sheriff Joe Arpaio, 88, narrowly lost a shot at his old job, after losing the GOP primary race to his ex-deputy, Jerry Sheridan. Arpaio, who held the position from 1993-2017, lost to Sheridan by just over 6,000 votes. The two contenders were separated just 1%, 37-36. The loss marked Arpaio’s second defeat in two years. He lost the GOP Senate primary in Arizona in 2018
So glad to hear this. Between costing taxpayers hundreds of millions to defend his horrible actions to the horrendous tent city being used to hold unprocecuted individuals (not to mention 120 degree heat) to the blatantly racist policies and attitudes that Penzone has been working hard to remove... This old coot needs to just give up.
